Joe Toplyn's writing class at The PIT was phenomenal.

I know he's doing another soon- call The PIT and ask.

Worth every damn penny.

Writing for The Daily Show – J.R. Havlan

If you have any interest in joke writing or The Daily Show itself…take this class.

J.R. guides you through a typical writing day at the show.
He’ll get you working on headlines, chats, and group rewrites.

He's been working at TDS since day one.
He's won three Emmys and contributed to America (The Book).

J.R. is a truly strong joke writer.

The class starts January 20. It's at The PIT.

The Daily Show class was terrific, you get right to it and apply your new skills each week. This class is great for all kinds of writers and really teaches you how to cut the fat out of your writing.

I took Ali's sketch writing class at the PIT and really got a lot of sketches out of it. Good stuff. Ali gave great feedback and really knows how to look through a sketch. I took both sketch writing 1 and 2.

I took a screenwriting class at gotham writing. I got real frustrated with the other people in the class. the teacher, Mort Scharfman (sp?) was great, really knew his stuff. But the people in the class ruined it with their stupid questions. I think their open door policy is their downfall. Or maybe the kind of difficult students they attract through their open door policy.
