WPA Theater Project @ UCBT/MAVERICK Theatre Work Camp

#1
Put down your shovels, grab a scoop of water, step on up here. We're the Sunshine Gang and we've got stories to tell and songs to sing. Government funded ministers of optimism from the Works Progress Adminstration.

We'll be at the new UCBT work camp at the Maverick Theatre on April 1 @ 9:30 pm (with the travelling sketch show Hooray for Mark and Ari) It's the first night at this new work camp, come and check it out.

These are tough times, war, economic depression, people need a little sunshine. Times are so tough people are using peach fairy wishes just to get rid of the skitters.

We even got a drunk indian pickin and strummin a flat top box.

We'll see you there.

It has been said that hard work won't give you nothing but an ache in the back and a hole in your heart.

Well friends, I'm here to tell you that ain't true. Hard work will give you peace of mind, a sense of accomplishment, and a feeling that you are part of what is good in this grand country of ours.

So do your hard work, be proud, and this Tuesday at 9:30pm, at the UCB workcamp, take a break for an hour or so and see some other hard workers, working hard for you.

Sorry, no Italians.

This Tuesday the Sunshine gang is proud to be a part of the opening of the new UCB Work Camp #17.
We are sure great things will be built by the people of work camp #17, so come on down and celebrate with us.
It is a new time for us all, let us join hands and sing.

This camp is our camp
This camp is your camp
From the shiny new water pump
To the modern new restrooms
This camp is made for you and me.

I worked on this here watermelon farm for my whole life, I don't know nothen else. I'd say it was about a year ago that the weather got funny in these parts. Sometimes too hot sometimes too cold. One morning I get up to feed the chickens when I look out over the watermelon field and see the most god awful sight a man has ever seen. Every one of my prized melons had exploded over night. It was like seeing a thousand heads with no skulls. It reminded me of the Great War to end all Wars, I felt like I was back in the trenches.
Well that was a sign, if ever there was one. So I burned my farm down eat all my chickens and hit the road. That is where I met up with the SUNSHINE GANG. They took me in and made me the performer that I am today.
To this day I can not look a melon in the face. And yes they do have faces.

The melons, god help us, the melons.

So that is just an example of the sunshine like stories you will hear at the WPA THEATER PROJECT.
Come on down this Tuesday at 9:30pm

Little ones' bellies always swell up before they go to their maker. If a little one goes and asks for bigger pants these days, you might want to get a little casket instead.

Another rye for me, barkeep. I'm on my last dollar and have done run out of hope.

Improv Comedy.

This is seriously one of my favorite UCB shows ever. Come for the songs, stay for the belly laughs. And Brian Huskey howling at the top of his lungs for two minutes straight.

It's sweetness and innocence with a dark and depraved core, like an alcoholic in a sailor suit gorging on liqueur-filled chocolates. (Trust me.)

WHO KEEPS POSTING AS ME?!

What? Am I logged in at the UCB office? Chad, be a dude. Log me out. Or write weirder shit then plugs for the WPA Project...which I hear is a very good show.

Thanks,
