Would eliminating QuickReply make for better posts?

I use it all the time, but I do wonder if the ease with which one can post in QuickReply tends to make for unnecessary/ill-thought-out posts. Opinions? Ya know, it's like forcing you to start an activity before talking in a scene or something.

Also, to be totally crazy, would it be even better to have an automatic preview for each post?

Now, this is only my opinion...

I post a lot. I know this. I don't think eliminating Quick Reply will force anyone to think about what they are saying any more, or any less.

It's a good idea, makes sense, but I dunno if it will solve any of the issues around here.

I've been using advanced reply recently for that very reason. Things have been ok this week, but i suspect that's just the holiday...

I almost always use the advanced reply just because I like all the bells and whistles (ok really bc I only know html, not vbulletin code) and that it's a larger typing area.

I dunno if I'm the only one who automatically uses Advanced mode for that reason, but I doubt I am.

So no, I don't think it would help. Maybe a little, but not much.
