Why do we need a Private Kerry Board?

I know it's a dumb question, because non like minded individuals or even people who don't give a fuck might start posting mindless stuff on the threads or worse. Fine.

But I'm honestly just fed up with this community constantly making things exclusive and clicky yet holier then thou.

Why do we even need a UCB student forum, never has there been a more busy body community ready to give hours and hours of overbearing feedback then ours why do we need a special forum? Is this where you get the recomendations you need to take a class after three years at the theater?

To be honest with you this self indulgent post is I admit is even off it's own topic but I've had a series of negative experiences at the theater and I'm starting to lose my shit.

I just want to use my art or whatever else I have available to get Bush out of office. I don't want to jump through hoops to do so.

In closing, I do see the need for a privat forum, I don't even need a response. I've just had enough.

Kerry board.

I'm not on the board, but I imagine that it's a place for Kerry supporters to go where they can be pro-Kerry and plan pro-Kerry support events without being disturbed by nay-sayers, unlike the open areas of the off-topic board.

The IRC owner has chosen to do this because, well, it's his board. I wasn't aware he had a mission statement or something that said the board was only to be used for certain things - hence the off topic section.

I can understand your frustration Rory, but you are a good guy. Breathe deep and hold onto your shit.

I'm surprised the shit-storm hasn't started yet, you, you naysayer.

Shit-storm!

Some of the private boards are to allow people to have truly private discussions, like the UCB Teachers forum or some of the team discussions. Some are simply to keep all threads from gunking up the rest of the board. For instance, the poker forum could be open I guess, there are no secrets there, but by keeping a password on it, it means that people who aren't interested don't have to see the threads when they search for new posts.

These private forums are not meant to promote clickiness, but to promote discussions of different types and enhance the experience here. You certainly belong in the UCB Student forum if you want, and you can probably gain access to many of the others. All you have to do is ask.

And why do we need a private Kerry board more specifically? Just read a few of the recent political threads. It's not a place for acrimonious debate, it's simply a place for supporters to organize and share ideas. The separate password protected forum just makes it easier for that to happen.

I understand, I have to apologize largely for my post, in reflection I was frustrated with a completely unrelated situation and people and took it out on the board. It was one of those early morning rant kind of things. I also should not of equivicated the IRC and the theater, they are not the same.

Since I believe you deserve an explaination I will tell you that my emotions came from a feeling I've had of late where I've lost faith in my heart in the belief that simply working hard and being good will allow you to move forward at the theater.

It's a bad feeling and it came out in an inappropriate fashion and it doesn't have anything to do with the IRC. So I apologize, I hope this doesn't mean you won't sell me magic mushrooms anymore.

In terms of Kerry I think the idea of a Private forum, although I see the need and benefit, just hit me wrong. Mainly because this guy hasn't even been on T'V in a month. He may be last American alive that doesn't know how to manipulate the media. We may need an all inclusive obnoxious in your face forum at this point. But that just my opinion. More power to every one in the Kerry Forum of course.

Sorry about the temper tantrum.
