Where to take classes?

I have a friend who lives out in Valley Forge and I want to get him involved in the Philly improv scene. What classes do you (philly improv community) recommend? Anything similar to UCB as far as long-form training?

thanks

Get PHIT or Get Out

Hey Mark,

I definitely think you should send your friend to PHIT. Full disclosure: I own the place. Well, actually, the idea of a permanent place... but I digress.

PHIT is going to do Level 1 & 2 classes again in May and we'll have Level 2 & 3 offered in the fall, so he can definitely get in there.

In addition, PHIT is doing a great workshop on March 18th with a guy you may know from New York named Ari Voukydis. :)

Have you friend check out the site above or just email:

I'd like to say that a great thing to do is recommend him coming to see one of the many shows in the area, if at all possible. It's a great way to connect to the people doing it and get a sense of what is out there.

The training stuff can follow.

I'm currently taking Greg Maughn's level 1 class, and highly recommend it.

I also did a workshop with Matt Holmes which was great too.

Both teachers create a nice, relaxed atmosphere where you can have fun and learn.

P.S. - Greg, is this enough to ensure that I get an A+ on my report card???
