Where should I eat in Chicago

Where should I go to eat when I go to Chicago in 2 weeks. I'm being taken out to dinner and not paying the bill. So I want the most awesome, coolest, tastiest restaurant in Chicago. Someone mentioned Charlie Trotter's and from my research I've come up with Trio, Tru, Everest, Narcisse, and The Signature Room at the 95th.

What have you heard or what do you think? The only thing I know about these restaurants is what I've read on Citysearch and in Zagat's.

Though not expensive, I've always liked Heaven on Seven (Cajun) and Reza's (Lebanese).

Obviously the ones you mentioned are good. There's also Eli's Steakhouse near the Watertower.

When I was in Chicago last spring we went to a steak place called Gibsons. I have no clue what street it is on, but I had the most amazing steak ever. They bring out the steaks before you order and show you the cuts of meat. And they had an Australian lobster tail the size of my lower leg.

I think it was fairly expensive. I believe it was ala cart.

Damn good though...

I had a really great (and expensive) meal in the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Prairie. It's in the Hyatt Printers Row on Dearborn. Lots of game. Super-tasty.

Nine is very tasty and super pretty. I ate there a few years back and I've seen great reviews in Town and Country and Chicago magazines. Upstairs is Ghostbar, which I hear is one of those lounges the beautiful people like to go. I don't know though. I'm usually chillin at less expensive places.

Also there is a mediterranean fusion place called Tizi Melloul that is amazing in food and decor. Depending on what night you go, there are bellydancers.

These are two interesting places that I like.

Hahaha!

Oh, well.

By the way, Gibson's is great. Their surf&turf can reach near $100.

Mob owned, I hear, which means it has to be good.

It's right next to where the Hamburger Hamlet was, 3 blocks from the Hancock (I lived 2 blocks away).

I'm still coming to Chicago though, I'm going to try to get my friend to come see Baby Wants Candy with me.

So if you're in Chicago and dying to meet me, this is your chance.

Sorry, I'm in Florida now (actually not so sorry to be in Florida).

Reza's is good...and reasonable, since you won't be treated.

Missing Reza's, but not the weather.
