The Bible - There is a huge, super-weird party announced by these four dudes on horseback. At the party, those whom God had given his Grace live on in Heaven; the others bite it.
Gravity's Rainbow - (I haven't read this one. I think Gollum bites off Frodo's finger.)
Ulysses - He returns home to find his wife has still not finished that damn tapestry.
Gödel, Escher, Bach - There is no such book.
Pale Fire - He sleeps with the prepubescent girl, but not for the reason psychoanalysts would assume.
The Iliad - Greece wins! Greece wins! Greece wins! Ulysses wife takes up looming (the textile hobby, not the intimidating stance).
