What song will play at the UCB new years party when the ball drops?

You're right. Despite "The New Year" being current and thematically appropriate, it's not a big-time party song. Maybe early in the evening.

For the stroke of midnight, I suggest William Shatner's "Common People," timed so the part when Joe Jackson is rocking out the chorus falls exactly at the stroke of midnight. And then follow it with Joe Jackson's party anthem "Friday."

These choices are based off of a general feel for the 2004 song

but it really all depends on who is DJing

1.) "Let's get it started"--Black Eyed Peas

2.) "Are you gonna be my girl"--Jets

3.) "Yeah"--Usher, Lil John & Ludacris

It will be whatever I decide it to be. Anyone dare to comment?

By the way, I'll only be DJing for a little while on New Years, so you're going to have to deal with some B-Lister's iPod for the majority of the night.

Obviously, DJ Sweatshirt will be taking a good portion of the night, including the Midnight song selection, that is until he has to head out for his radio gig from 4 to 10 am on 92.3 K-ROCK. I will say however that everything I neged will, was lame and will, in fact, be neged, and that my music selections and those of Eric Appel will leave you too weak to turn off the shitty 6-5 bowl games on your tv all Saturday.

Additionally...No one calls a 60GB iPod Photo that arrived a week before they were even in the Apple Store "b-list."

Ever.

"Youre the Best" from the Karate Kid.

I would like to see some people try to hook up to this song.
That would make things worth watching.
