Hey, gang! Sean Taylor and Tony Carnevale's Variety Underground, a free show featuring various and sundry NYC comedy acts, is having a great time this month. Don't you want to be part of the fun next month?

We're interested in having longform improv groups perform, but we also like sketch, music, interesting standup, and WEIRD BIZARRENESS!

Email varietyunderground@yahoo.com if you'd like to perform one Thursday in May.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Variety Underground

I'm not exactly sure what forum this post belongs in, but I am sure that it should not be posted in two forums.

(A nearly identical thread was also started in the "plugs" forum: http://www.improvresourcecenter.com/mb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13253 )

My gut instinct is that the plugs forum is the best place for auditions/slots available type threads. Although they are probably of more interest than your typical "come see me in a show" thread, they are still, essentially, advertisements. Like I said, I'm not exactly sure about how I feel about this.

I do believe it is poor etiquette to double post. Most IRC users are bored enough at work to look at every post that comes through. We don't need to see things twice.

For what it's worth, Mullaney: I don't read the plugs forum (I work for myself, so I don't have the mixed blessing that is a job where I can surf these boards all day). But I do appreciate hearing about performance opportunities. I'd prefer to see audition/performance opportunities allowed in this forum (NYC) and others, as long as they are clearly marked and don't start outnumbering the regular posts.

The real issue is double posting. This arguably belongs here because it's not a pure plug, it's more of a casting call. However, you should never post the same thing in two forums.
