On Monday, September 25, 2006 at 7PM, the Off Broadway Theatre will be hosting auditions for musicians and improvisers to perform in its first ever fully improvised musical showcase. IMPROV! The Musical will be a celebration of music and improv performed November 10, 11, 17, and 18 in 2006. Performers will perform short improvised musical games as well as a 30-40 minute completely improvised musical. The cast will be directed by Jesse Parent, a member of the Laughing Stock improv troupe that performs at the Off Broadway Theatre every Friday and Saturday at 10PM. All performances will be paid.

Auditions will take place at the Off Broadway Theatre, at 272 South Main Street in Salt Lake City.

Actors:
Actors should arrive with experience performing improvised games and the confidence to create songs on the fly. You will be playing with each other and special attention will be paid towards those who know how to give up the stage as well as take it when necessary. Confidence is the primary skill needed, and the ability to sing without making dogs howl doesn’t hurt.

Musicians:
IMPROV! The Musical needs a skilled keyboardist that can lead and follow with singers on stage. A broad knowledge of musical styles is what we need the most. Playing to a song sheet is unnecessary and won’t be needed for this production.

All performers auditioning should bring a headshot and resume. Rehearsals will occur every Tuesday in October and more often as needed. The cast will be approximately 7-9 actors and one musician.

Good luck and we hope to see you there!
