Since this is your first show, I should let you know it's not called The Maverick Theatre anymore, it is Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. I'll bring the towel's to wipe that water off from behind your ears. This is gonna be fun!

When you come to a Dillinger show, you will witness first-hand the improv spectacle known as "Harold". Beginning with an audience suggestion, Dillinger launches into their patented opener, an idea-generating montage of interlacing character monologues. Even at this point, the audience will begin to see a theme emerge.

This is followed quickly by three separate, two-person scenes which begin to extrapolate on the theme provided by the melding of the opener and the audience's suggestion. The two-person scenes are followed by what is called a "group game", a large scene or free-style game involving all of the players.

Then begins the real amazement. Bringing back characters or ideas from the first set of three scenes, Dillinger continues to expound on the theme of the show along three separate tracks. After another beat of each of the first scenes and another group game, the true wonder of Harold shows itself as the divergent threads from each scene are tied together in a coherent idea on the theme suggested.
