Level 1: Introduction to Longform Scenework
This course introduces the student to the practical foundations of improv and the Impatient Theatre Co. approach to improvisation: focusing on the individual, emphasizing initiation, character development and ensemble performance. Students will be introduced to the Harold. All students must start in Level 1.
Maximum class size is 16.
Level 2: Character, Relationship and Environment
Builds on Level 1, focusing on character development, relationship and environment. Emphasis is placed on the elements of successful improv within a team structure: supporting each other, trusting each other and developing a group mind.
Level 3: Advanced Scenework Techniques
An examination of the two-person scene, with attention on the ensemble. New challenges will elevate the improviser to a higher performance level: making more interesting choices, creating richer characters and building tension. With a thorough understanding of scenework, students bring scenes to life through specificity in their actions, words and character choices.

"The Impatient Theatre Co. approach to teaching complements what I have learned from The Second City. My confidence in my improv skills has increased tenfold since participating in the Impatient Theatre Co. workshops. The enthusiastic and straight-forward style of coaching enables you to take risks, have fun and get out of your head."
