Thanks everyone! We expect the podcast itself to last for a long time, but the outpouring of praise after just one week will most likely cause Will and I to shift the focus from talking about improv to talking about ourselves and our greatness.

This week's UCBTNY Podcast is up! Will and John interview Andree Vermeulen and Jim Santangeli about FRENCH TOAST, and deepen their increasingly antagonistic relationship during a discussion of talent vs. passion!

Listen here or on that iTunes subscription you have.

I listened to the first episode... fun! I would like to ask that Gavin appear for at least five minutes in every episode, preferably to say things that are not true.

Loving it. You guys sound great.

In the spirit of the November 23rd podcast, I have some notes.
  • iTunes doesn't list the very first podcast from November 16. Any chance of getting that?
  • Also, something is a little wonky with the setup with iTunes. I was only able to download one podcast at a time.
  • I know you want those transition songs to sound great, but I'm not sure it has to be in stereo. It sounds like most of the show is essentially a conversation in mono anyway. The files are pretty big in comparison to other podcasts I download.
  • I think the description on this page should have much more info about the podcast itself than it does and also about Will and John and your general awesomeness.

Hey Mullaney! Thanks for listening and for the kind words and great suggestions. I've been meaning to change the description, haven't gotten around to it yet. We'll work on the other stuff as we can!

Thank you Kevin! So great and nice. I didn't mean to make it stereo -- I will work on this stuff!

And if you ever have suggestions for content and tone we'd love to hear any ideas you have.

I couldn't hear this. Still waiting for suggestions from Kevin Mullaney only. Thx.
All of my ideas are stolen from other podcasts:
  • Feature clips from the actual shows, à la Fresh Air
  • Record bits from the shows as radio pieces, à la This American Life
  • Take phone call in questions from frustrated improvisors (and when possible call them back), à la the Savage Podcast
  • Start each show with a sound bite from the news which somehow connects to your show, à la Planet Money
  • End the show with "McManus Chatter" where you mention topics that listeners should bone up on before they attempt to make conversation at McManus, à la Cocktail Chatter from the Slate's Political Gabfest

Those are all great! I'm too lazy to do any of the ones that involve me getting recordings of shows, but I agree those are smart ideas. John handle this plz. thx.

I really love the stealing of Slate's "Cocktail Chatter" segment. That's a good one! I'd also love to take phone calls, maybe if we get more technologically advanced at some point. For now, that's what we set up the email addy for. So people can write in w/questions, comments, etc.

And Will, you got it, I'll get on the wet t-shirt contest right away.

This week's podcast is now available online and on iTunes!

Will and I interview the guys from "2Pac: The Musical!" and come closer than ever to a knife fight during a discussion on the pros and cons of having non-comedy careers while also focusing on comedy!

Listen to it at too loud a volume on the subway so other people get to hear it too now!
