ATTENTION ALL FILMMAKERS
"The Reel Deal" needs shorts!

Do you have any short films or videos under your belt with nowhere to show them? Coming soon is the cable access series called The Reel Deal, a 30 minute show dedicated to showcasing NYC's independent video and film artists' short works. The show will begin its broadcast in the upcoming seasons in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, so the door is now wide open for video and film submissions from students, artists, plumbers - whatever! There is no fee to submit your work - just make sure your piece(s) qualify according to the following guidelines and send it on in! You make it, we show it!

Submission Guidelines:
1) Producer/director must be resident of one of NYC's five boroughs
2) Work must have been completed in the last 5 years
3) Length of each piece cannot exceed 10 minutes
4) All genres accepted, except for music videos (OK, if it's really awesome, then maybe so)
5) Maximum 3 pieces can be submitted by an artist every three months
6) Format for submission must be Mini-DV or DVD. VHS is discouraged, but if it's all you got, then send it on in.

Works must be postmarked no later than July 31 for the current series. Include a sheet of paper with your name, address, email, phone #, the names of the pieces submitted and any credits you wish to include
(director, producer, DP, editor). Tapes will not be returned unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided with your submission.

If any of this is confusing, just send an email to info@reeldealtv.com and I?ll try to explain it a bit better.

Send your tape to:
The Reel Deal
C/o Matthew Glasson
78 Norman Ave, 1st Floor
Brooklyn, NY 11222

Artists who have been selected will be notified by email or phone by August 15 and may be asked to furnish additional information for the episode which will feature their work. Showcasing your work on The Reel Deal is in no way exclusive and you're free to submit your pieces to other festivals, showcases and distributors.

Check the website at http://reeldealtv.com for more details or email info@reeldealtv.com with any questions.

Matthew Glasson, the guy who's putting this show together, did some editing on my 48 Hour Film Project. He rocks. So if you owe me a favor, pass it along to him and submit your short.
