The Project - standings and box score thread

March 30th, 2008

And so The Project ends. It ended, certainly, on a high note with a large, enthusiastic crowd and inspired improv shows. It marked the return of classic Project team "Primal Bias", who played at their fast-paced best. They even beat out "Machine Wash Tuxedo" in the standings (who had played two shows before forfeiting the rest of the season.) "Team Fernandez" sported matching team t-shirts...just in time for the final show! They also DESTROYED the competition to win the coveted title of Champion Project Team of All Time by a whopping 34 points over "Hop Fries." And "Strongers", had the Project continued for another season, would have survived!

And the final Big Team Skirmish was won by the Red Team (featuring Kevin Hines, Lou Fernandez, Ptolemy Slocum, Erik Tanouye, Erin Rose Foley, Dave Lombard, and Terry Jinn, etc.) with 28 votes. The defeated Blue Team (featuring Louie Pearlman, Shelly Stover, Kirk Damato, Mary Regan, Michael Jeffrey Cohen, Marcus Bonnee, some guy in a green t-shirt, etc.) only garnered a PALTRY 11 votes. In an act of generosity, Will Hines gave up his Red Team seat to Lombard, who gave Will his Twix bar. So nice.

Thanks to all those who came out and supported the show over the past 3.5 years! Have a great summer!

How sweet it is!

Awesome final show. Hilarious on so many levels. There was classic improv, meta improv, cluster-fuck improv and even "oddly angular Chris Tucker from the Fifth Element" improv. Ghosty Teen reprise even!

Thanks for the awesome times Terry. Do I come to your house for the checks or what? Sean Taylor said there would be checks.

The final show kind of did have it "all". Great shows by everyone.

I did enjoy... when Ptolemy as the human embodiment of The Project... lying on the ground... bleeding... said "Terry, I love you"... was quieted forever with a bullet to the head. (And me... with a bullet to my head.)

A fittingly tragic end!

Also fitting... the team with the Anchorman and Cragg won the Final Big Team Skirmish. Red Team has the flag... FOREVER.

Am I a super-stats nerd for wanting to see each team's season points tally, to figure out who scored the highest throughout the entire Project? I might do that when I'm off the clock.

Thank you, Terry.

I also loved Ptolemy asking Louie P. to describe how his suggestion "the last project" made him feel, sort of an invocation from the audience.

I put up photos of the first project at the first week of the magnet.

Lisa Ackerman took the lovely pictures of the invocation and shows...something like 100 people performed that night. That was a pretty magical night but those Gene Frankel shows were really something else, too. Great feeling of community support, fun, love.

Thanks Terry for the Project and for all you do to foster community!

Thanks, Terry. Great night, great The Project. I'm glad I got to be a part of the formative year.

However, I never ever won the fucking candy bar.[/end murderous rage]
