The new season began with a bang. And by "bang" I mean there was a great audience and great shows. Also "bang" meaning a shot fired across last season's champion Hop Fries' bow. And that shot was fired by Team Fernandez who made a statement last night by winning with a whopping score of 43 points. Not to say Kid Friendly's score was bad, because at 32 points, it was nice indeed.
The bar has been set high at the start of the season. Will other other teams respond? With a "bang" perhaps?

The season debuts of GOW, Strongers and Longbottom started things off strong for each team. Well, for 2 of the 3 teams, anyway. GOW had the best showing of the night, leaping into second place overall, with Longbottom not too far behind. Strongers, however, stumbled out of the gate with a show that was not particularly enjoyed by the audience. Can they get it together and score some points to stave off elimination down the road? Only time can tell.

The season debuts of the new teams (Machine Wash Tuxedo and Afternow) and the season debut of last season's champion Hop Fries was a fun affair. A good crowd and a fun atmosphere were capped off by a stellar show by the Fries, earning them a whopping 41 points. Looks like the champions have not lost an ounce of momentum.

Sometimes, even if there is a small crowd, a team just doesn't care and does a great show anyway. GOW did that last night and was deservedly rewarded with 29 points. (And no 3rd place votes!) The other teams didn't quite fare as well, not helping themselves in the overall standings race. Hop Fries still holds onto number one, but GOW is creeping up there!
The Project is on vacation for the Superbowl, but will be back the following week!

It was freezing outside, but hot inside the PIT, what with all the improv going on! And the hottest team going is Hop Fries! Their high scoring attack rolled again, keeping them in first place overall. GOW and Longbottom also did well for themselves, staying in the race by capturing 2rd and 3rd overall.
Who will win this final Project season? Wait, what did you say? Indeed, after this season is over, The Project will be going on an indefinite hiatus. So, if you want a chance to see some of these teams for the last time (at the Project anyway), definitely catch them now.

What better way to celebrate your love of former presidents than to watch an improv comedy show? Apparently many people believe just that notion, as they came out to support The Project. And similar to our country's electoral process, they know they have the power to vote for their favorite improv team. And vote they did... with laughs... and with actual votes. And the most votes went to... Longbottom. Not too far behind was Kid Friendly, followed by a good showing by freshman team Afternow.
Who will end up on top? Only 5 more Project shows to go. Next week is off (for the Oscars), but the final 5 shows will be coming to you in March.

As The Project winds down to its conclusion, the competition as to who will be the champion for eternity heats up! Last night's teams played hard and ultimately GOW came out on top with a wonderful farewell show. The "Gifties" now stand on top of the heap. Will Hop Fries (always a favorite amongst Vegas bookies) put in a stellar final show and claim the title again? Only 4 more shows to go!
