The Peoples Improv Theater is looking for a Part Time Night Manager to oversee all evening operations of a 99-seat theater space and a cabaret theater space.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
-Oversee 3-5 one hour performances each night in two theater spaces, including the supervision of artists, technicians, patrons, theater staff, and facilities.
-Responsible for prompt start and end times for each performance.
-Supervise and train theater staff.
-Oversee box office and all nightly ticket sales.
-Responsible for keeping the building clean, fully stocked, and presentable.
-Uphold all safety, fire, and building regulations and codes.
-Ensure smooth transitions between shows.
-Troubleshoot and solve problems in relation to customer service, technical equipment, ticketing, vendors, patrons, and staff.
-Facilitate and supervise any special events in the theaters.
Approximate schedule:
Sundays 4:30-11:30pm
Mondays 4:30pm-1am
Tuesdays OFF
Wednesdays 6pm-12am
Thursdays OFF
Fridays 6pm-12am
Saturdays 6pm-12am
35 hours per week, $10 per hour
Start date: ASAP
On Sunday and Monday nights, the part time Night Manager is solely responsible for Night Manager duties. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights the part time Night Manager will ASSIST the full time Night Manager to help fulfill the required duties.
Unfortunately, there is no flexibility in shift hours or days. Ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent people and customer service skills. Candidate should be a multi-tasker, efficient problem solver, and a strong leader. This is a management position. In addition, the candidate should be well organized with strong computer skills (Mac proficient). Prior House staff experience is a must, as is knowledge of lighting, sound, and visual equipment (projectors). Knowledge of and interest in the New York comedy scene a plus.
