The Apartment Thread (October 2007)

Hi folks,
My name is Kate McKinnon, I'm on a Maude Team at UCB. I am looking for a roommate for August/September to stay preferably for one year. The rent is $1000. The apartment is massive. You have to see it to believe how massive it is. People gasp when they walk into it. There are two massive bedrooms, one of which will be occupied by me.
The apartment is in a safe area of Southwest Harlem, just east of Columbia University. It is four blocks (and no avenues!) from the B C local and five blocks (and no avenues) from the A D express.
Please email me if you'd like to know more at kate.mckinnon@gmail.com.

Stratford-upon-Caton, East Wing
Stratford Road, between Caton & Church, Brooklyn
~June 12th to ~August 12th

This summer I will be subletting my room for two months while I am in California. Rent is $633/month, utilities usually $30-40 (gas, electric, wi-fi). On the border of Kensington and Prospect Park South, easy access to the B/Q express at Church, and the F/G local at Ft. Hamilton or Church. Move in/out dates negotiable by a few days. Quiet, family neighborhood, lots of trees, half a block from the Parade Grounds, walking distance from Prospect Park.

Second floor apartment with sweet, retired landlady on first floor. Modest sized bedroom, spacious shared living & dining rooms with bay windows, bathroom, and full kitchen. Lots of amenities on Church Avenue (market, laundry, bodegas, restaurants, pharmacy, shopping). One express train commute to/from Manhattan on the Q/B (often express late night), easy commute to Park Slope & LES on the F, or Williamsburg/Greenpoint/LIC on the G.

Perfect place for someone moving to NYC, an excellent base to search for fall housing, or for someone visiting for the summer. One male, one female roommate, tidy, dependable, friendly but busy with their own lives. Both are lovely theatre people. One sweet cat, that has been kept out of the room to be rented. Have allergies myself, but they haven't been a problem (the cat has a life, too).

Will be showing the apartment starting around June 1st. My concern is the rent for the sublet, my roommates will want to meet the person they might live with. If you are referred by someone I know, but won't be in town yet, we should talk.

Please message me for more information.
Still available, setting up interviews for this weekend and early next week.

I will be in LA for the month of August. Please live in my apartment.

Sublet for the month of August (1 - 31) in Astoria, NY. This 3 BR apartment is less than a minute off the N, W subway lines (30th st and Broadway) and 5 minutes to the 7 train. Apartment is on Broadway - a very active avenue in Queens. 10 minutes to Manhattan.

The rent is $690 and my two roommates are very normal, well adjusted 25 year old men. One is a cook and the other is in marketing - the apartment is empty during most of the days. You would also be responsible to chip in for cable (everything but HBO) and utilities. All the bills usually round out to $800 for the month - maybe a little more with excessive air conditioner use - that is your call.

The bedroom is large with two windows, a desk, a queen sized bed and an air conditioner. The kitchen has all the things kitchens should have - microwave, stove, blender, fridge, breakfast table w/chairs, prep table etc. The living room has two couches, a table, a flatscreen HD TV and can comfortably seat 7. All of that is here.

Email me with questions - BScaf21@aol.com

Covered in bronze
Room off Grand Stop in Williamsburg

Quiet room in two bedroom on the same block as the Grand L train. This is a great apartment, with a huge 50's style kitchen. Ultra-convenient (about 75 feet) to the Grand Street L, all of the awesome Graham street area restaurants and bars. It's a small room, 10x9, but the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, so there's lots of privacy. Your bedroom is at the back of the apartment, so it's completely quiet, no noise from the street. Great sunlight in the morning, overlooks trees and a church. Beautiful view.

The building is a 5-unit building and everyone is very friendly, it's a great vibe here.

I am a performer who teaches most nights in the city. I don't bring the party home with me, and I'm looking for someone of a similar mindset, but guests are cool.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone who has a 9-5, but all welcome.

The bedroom is available for for sublet from Aug 1 till Nov 1 with the possibility of extension.

No indoor smoking and the bedroom is unfurnished. Tons of closet space! Like a crazy amount.

The sublet is $975 (plus $925 security) a month, which includes all utilities (gas, electric, water, wireless internet, all paid for!)

Contact me at mikestill AT gmail dot com if you are ready to TAKE THE PLUNGE.

I know this is pretty far in advance, but I am looking for a room or apartment for move-in on November 1. I would like to live close to midtown Manhattan (either UWS, UES, Astoria, or Brooklyn) if possible as my job is in Midtown. My work is 9 to 5 and between that, my independent comedy troupe, writing, and the gym I wouldn't be home that much. That said, I am a very considerate and clean roommate. I don't smoke, I don't really party all that often, and I don't have any pets. Hit me up at the email in my signature if I sound like a good roommate to you.

Want to live in Bayridge?

The small room in my apartment is available August 1st. $450. Bills mostly average around/under $80 depending on the time of year. Cable/Internet/Gas/Electric.

77th St. stop on the R. N and D express trains make a quicker-than-you-think commute.

I've lived there for almost 6 years. Nice open living room, good size kitchen. The other roommate is a law student I went to undergrad with in Oklahoma. We're pretty laid back, clean, etc.

Hey, all:

Bob Acevedo there. Unforeseen but non-pass-upable move means my roommate Amey G. (of Kromph) needs a roommate ASAP. She's super awesome. You should be her roommate. Starting in August:

Here are the deets:

$950 a month rent. East 109th Street. Very close to 2/3 and 6 trains. Literally three minutes from Central Park and only a few blocks from East Harlem's museum row (for you folks that like a little culture now and again). Utilities are included; there's internet and gloriously large TV with TIVO, for you cats that are in to that.

The room is very big and has two windows. You're closet is also big and is just outside the room.

She also has an awesome cat who will love you.

It's a crazy DCM weekend, but if ya need a place, I'll be around this weekend and can show you the place.

If interested, just e-mail me: hebrides *dot* totino *at* gmail *dot* com

Or you can give me a ring: 212 203 7228

Peace.

Might need a place jan 1st

Depending on what happens with me, work, etc., I might need to move into some kind of cheaper place or share starting January 1st.

If you think you'll be needing a roomie then, or are thinking or moving into NYC or the surrounding areas, let me know.

I'm a big cuddly writer, improviser and technologist who pays his bills on time, likes to cook gourmet meals and who's hobbies include cleaning and being unobtrusive.
