The Apartment Thread (October 2007)

Move in date is APRIL 1!

A room available in a 3 Bedroom Apartment in COBBLE HILL (Boreum Hill if you want to get technical), Brooklyn. It is an amazing neighborhood. A bunch of awesome restaurants and shops a block away. Two-three blocks from the A, C (Hoyt-Schermerhorn) and the F, G (Bergen). The 2, 3 and 4, 5 are right close by as well.

The apartment is great. A big living room (with a crap load of couches), a dining room, kitchen, bath, roof deck etc. The bedroom available is a decent size. It's windowless but has an Air Conditioner.

Rent: $900/month + utilities
Utilities: $80-$120/month. (Gas, Electric, Direct TV, Wi-Fi, Cleaning Lady)

You'd share the apartment with me (Brandon) and a cool guy named Steve who doesn't do comedy but has heard me and my roommate (who is moving out) reference it a lot so, you know... he knows what's up. ANYway...

If you're interested, email me: jones (dot) brandonscott (at) gmail (dot) com.

Giant room right next to path for cheap

I got a huge room in my apt in Hoboken available asap or may 1st, 700/month plus utilities. its at least 12x12 with high ceilings but gonna measure tonight. Garden between 1st and 2nd so super close to the path as well. Also I, Boris Khaykin, would be your roommate and have a full audio recording studio in the apt as well in case you like to play/record stuff, so thats all a pretty sweet deal right there. Get at me 732-979-3855 or bkhaykin@gmail.com

It seems like every time I turn around, we're looking for a roommate-- we've ended up with some real doozies this year. One had to go to alcohol rehab, one left the city, etc. Soooo, we're hoping this one will be more permanent.

A bit about the place: 3BR sunny, open apt with 2 ladies (myself being one) in their mid-20s and 2 very adorable cats. My roommate is working on her PhD and I work in the film industry (though I'm currently between jobs). We generally stick to ourselves but are friendly in common areas and just want someone with similar interests and whatnot. $582 per month (we just re-signed the lease this month, so it won't increase for a while, and we are rent controlled), with first, last, and security needed upon moving in. We're definitely looking for someone ASAP.

Here's the Craigslist ad-- http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/roo/1667166273.html

If you're interested, respond directly to me (not the address in the craigslist ad as it goes to my roommate) at jennifer.still@gmail.com and mention you saw it here. We'll give priority to funny people. :)

Room in Greenpoint 4 Bedroom

Hey, looking for someone for June 1st for a room in a Greenpoint 4 Bedroom that I live in.

Pros: The rent is only 575 a month, with a 700 dollar deposit. You can leave at any time if you offer 30 days notice. We have cable and internet - utilities run around 50-60 dollars. The neighborhood is great, you're a 3-5 walk from either the Greenpoint Ave. G or the Nassau Ave G. The place is especially conducive to someone with a night time schedule. You'd live with me and two girls. Also, you'd be downstairs from improv mainstays Kat Toledo and Amber Nelson.

Cons: The room has no window, hence the cheap rent. It does get a bit hot in the summer. If you can stomach that, then this place is for you.

PM me if you'd like to come by and check the place out.

Summer Sublet, Brooklyn ($633/mo, 2 months)

Stratford Road, between Caton & Church, Brooklyn
Immediately to August 14th, shorter-term sublet inquiries welcome

This summer I am subletting my room while I am in California. Rent is $633/month, utilities usually $30-40 (gas, electric, wi-fi). On the border of Kensington and Prospect Park South, easy access to the B/Q express at Church, and the F/G local at Ft. Hamilton or Church. Move in/out dates negotiable by a few days. Quiet, family neighborhood, lots of trees, half a block from the Parade Grounds, walking distance from Prospect Park.

Second floor apartment with sweet, retired landlady on first floor. Modest sized bedroom, spacious shared living & dining rooms with bay windows, bathroom, and full kitchen. Lots of amenities on Church Avenue (market, laundry, bodegas, restaurants, pharmacy, shopping). One express train commute to/from Manhattan on the Q/B (often express late night), easy commute to Park Slope & LES on the F, or Williamsburg/Greenpoint/LIC on the G.

Perfect place for someone moving to NYC, an excellent base to search for fall housing, or for someone visiting for the summer. One male, one female roommate, tidy, dependable, friendly but busy with their own lives. Both are lovely theatre people. One sweet cat, that has been kept out of the room to be rented. Have allergies myself, but they haven't been a problem (the cat has a life, too).

Showing the apartment by appointment. As I am already in CA, responses will be forwarded to my roommates to schedule a viewing. Please message me for more information.

Will be showing the apartment starting around June 1st. My concern is the rent for the sublet, my roommates will want to meet the person they might live with. If you are referred by someone I know, but won't be in town yet, we should talk.

Please message me for more information.
Bumping this because I also live there! Live with me!!!
