Hey-- I need a new roommate for June 1st!
LOCATION: Astoria. Two blocks from the Steinway stop, which has the R, the V, and sometimes the E and G. About a ten-minute walk to the Broadway stop on the N. About a 20-minute ride to Times Square. Walking distance from everything you'd need, including a laundromat around the corner. Safe and pleasant neighborhood.
APARTMENT: Third-floor walkup. Two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom. The bedroom is a decent size and comes mostly furnished: no bed, but a desk/chair, nightstand, small loveseat, TV, and DVD player. It doesn't have a closet inside it, but there's a closet immediately outside of it in the hallway, which would be yours (there's also a separate shared closet in the hallway). It also has wireless Internet access.
The rest of the apartment is fully furnished. The living room has a sofa, a couple of chairs, a table, a TV, and a VCR/DVD combo-- and a digital cable package that includes DVR and all the HBOs. The kitchen has a table and chairs, and all your standard kitchen stuff. (The bedroom itself doesn't have a cable box.)
COST: Rent = $700 a month, due on the 1st. Utilities = roughly $110 to $120ish (more over the summer if the A/C is on a lot), which includes the cable/internet package (main internet box is in my room, with a router for wireless access).
ME: I'll be out of your hair. I mostly keep to myself in my room. I'm starting law school in September, and between that, improv, and hopefully a social life, I probably won't be home much. Clean, respectful, etc. I seldom have friends over, and when I do, I'll always make sure we're respectful and quiet. I keep erratic hours (at least for now), but I promise to be as quiet as you need me to be if I'm up late at night.
YOU: I'd prefer someone I know, but I'm open to friends-of-friends and comedy folk. I don't mind noise/music/TV/etc., and I don't mind whatever hours you keep and whenever you go in and out. I also don't mind if you have people over, as long as everyone is respectful.
NO: No pets. No smoking in the apartment.
Full Disclosure: You'd be living above a bar. It doesn't get too noisy too often, but Saturday nights are karaoke nights. If you intend to spend Saturday nights at home meditating in silence, you'll want earmuffs.

Thanks,
