The 2007 Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival

#1
It begins!

You may have thought that SketchFest wasn't until January...and you'd be right. But we're already getting things started. Tomorrow, specifically August 15th, we will begin accepting applications for the 6th Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival. We'll be accepting them until October 15th. But get them in sooner rather than later. That's just common sense, friends. All of the rules, regulations, and applications will be available on-line at www.chicagosketchfest.com starting August 15th. Tell everyone you know to go and check it out.

September 18th. Save that date, everyone. That's the night of the SketchFest Kick-Off Party. Come out and enjoy a live auction, a live showcase of hilarious sketch comedy, view a mini-documentary of last year's SketchFest, and have tons of food and drink (cheerfully donated by Hooters). Tickets will go on sale soon, $20 pre-sale, $25 at the door. And just to whet your whistle, 2 round-trip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States is one of the auction items. Hot dog!!

I'll update with more details as soon as I get them. In the mean time, spread the word. SketchFest is back and ready to tear it up! {Rock and Roll music, Explosions, Doves taking wing!}

Greetings friends,
Just a quick update in two easy to follow parts:

We’ve been accepting applications for 2 weeks now for the 2007 Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival and have received, get ready for it, 1 application!! A very small amount of entries indeed. I’d hope that you’re all getting them ready as fast as you can and spreading the word to neighboring sketch groups to do the same.

Ok, you need some incentive? Go check out our NEW website (www.chicagosketchfest.com). It’s got everything you need, plus a hilarious teaser/trailer of the mini documentary. If you have questions about anything just ask Jill Valentine (jill@chicagosketchfest.com) she’d be more than happy to help you out.

Monday, Sep. 18th. At the Theater Building Chicago. The Sketchfest Kickoff Party! It’s getting huge! Here are just a few of the items up for the live auction:

2 round tickets from Southwest Airlines
3 Month membership to Bally Total Fitness

2 tickets to Hamlet-Chicago Shakespeare
ESPN banner signed by all the anchors
Second City 8 week class
Whirley Ball-60 min session
Gift Certificate to Buddy Guy's
Comedy Sports Class and tickets
Brian McConkey Headshot Gift Certificate

This weekend is your last chance!

On Monday (around 5-ish) we're taking down the paypal link located at www.chicagosketchfest.com So you will no longer be able to purchase tickets to the Sketchfest Kickoff party for the low price of $20. You'll be stuck paying $25 at the door. That's still a great deal for outrageous auction items, Hooters food and Samuel Adams beverages, a sketch showcase, and documentary of last year's festival. I know. We're crazy!

Join us at 7:30 on Monday Sep. 18th at the Theatre Building Chicago. All the relevant and exciting information can be seen in my other posts and at the website. If you have any other questions please contact jill@chicagosketchfest.com She's pretty great at answering questions.

Today also marks the last 4 weeks that we'll be accepting applications for the 2007 Sketch Comedy Festival. So no more dilly dally, get your submission in NOW.

Have a great weekend and I'll see you all on Monday. Thanks.

ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT!

Get your application in today for the Chicago Sketchfest (the nation's largest sketch festival). You don't just get to perform. There's also Octasketch, Sketchubator, Master Sketch, and Sketchy times at the Sketch good Sketch house.

I made the last one up.

But seriously, we stop accepting applications on October 15th. Don't wait until the last minute! Go to www.chicagosketchfest.com right now and download the application. If you have any questions please contact jill@chicagosketchfest.net She loves solving problems.

And a huge thanks goes out to everyone who attended, performed or won an auction at the Kickoff Party. Thank you all for the support!

No more dilly dally. Get the application in. Now.
