is it too early to plan for this?

i am going to be around during thanksgiving weekend and wanted to volunteer somewhere. has anyone done this before? any ideas on how i can find a place needing help?

Good Question..I too am interested in possibly making my fabulous cranberry sauce for people who like it better than my cats.

Anyone ever helped others on Turkey day?

actually, planning this far head is a good idea - a lot of places end up having to turn away volunteers on thanksgiving. Maybe instead we could have a big foundling Thanksgiving (for people not spending it with family) and then volunteer on a day less oversaturated with volunteers.
