The first time I saw Filth was the Cage Match before Street Meat (the wild card team) would eventually battle them. They had an amazing show, and won against Respecto. Needless to say we were intimidated. They again put on a great show the following week and beat the crap out of us. But they were worthy fuckin' adversaries. If we had to be beat it was good to know were beat far and square. And afterwards we liked them so much we even got the Uncanny, Astonishing, and Age of Apocolypse Kevin Hines to coach for us. It's sad to see such a great team go.
Filth, in all its various permutations, will rrrrrock on forever. I had a great time being Filthy with you and am so pleased to know how much more Filthy you later became. I will be the first to say that Filth is directly responsible for lifting the curse-o-the babe. A cagematch was won and an inevitable leviathan of change was set in motion. Redsox win in 7.
Epitaphs are retarded. All of you are fantastic improvisers. Good luck with your next thing, and the next and the next. Blast Off!
As I spent the summer coming to see Harold Nights and Cage-Matches, Filth quickly became my favorite team. Their Cage-Match defeat over Respecto was perhaps the most satisfying improv show I have ever seen, and I voted for them each of their appearances. When I got the opportunity to speak Amey, and later Ryan at the Siren Festival on Coney Island, their kindness just made me a bigger fan. Hats off to you, Filth.
