Taxi to Newark

I have to go to Newark airport in the middle of the night. Usually I would do the Amtrak to Airtran thing, but I don't think I can muster that at 4:30 in the morning. Does anybody have a clue how much a taxi from downtown to Newark would be?

Does anybody know of shuttle busses that go there?

be warned - it will pick you up earlier that you asked. but in new york, you can't go anywhere without being 15 minutes early or late, so i would rather it be early. it will also probably pick people up after you, but that's the supershuttle life.

cheaper than a taxi and door-to-door service.

There's also a Carey bus that goes from Port Authority, right? I seem to remember that being around $25 or so.

what i was going to suggest; had to do that last minute one night when my 7 pm flight was bumped into a 5 am the next morning flight.

A friend of mine had to do Super Shuttle in the middle of the night, and they cancelled on her at the last minute (I guess not enough people booked). She ended up having to take a cab, which I guess isn't so bad if it was your original "plan A" to begin with. But it wasn't her's. So that kinda sucked.

Is Super Shuttle the "blue van?"

I've had them no-show twice and once tell me (at the airport) "there wasn't enough room" (I was the last one to the van) and I had to wait for some unspecified time. I called Dial 7.

There's another van service I see called Airlink (grey vans) - anyone use them?
