Swarm, Cagematch, the 4th Wall

Andrew Secunda leads the way yet again!

By breaking the fourth wall with his "late" entrance, Secunda takes up position (again) in the avant garde.

God, he is so good (and so good looking -- I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST WROTE THAT!! :) )

He truly is a leader not only on the Swarm but for the entire theater community too.

God Bless Andrew Secunda!

Is that copyright infringement?

Andrew, you should get a "tm" or a "c" after your name in order to stop shenanigans such as this.

And what of his rocks? This conversation is making me very upset.

God Bless Dwight Eisenhower!

Secunda does indeed do that thing

I was particularly impressed with Secunda's train initiation last night. That was brilliant.

Use the term "self-reflexive" to describe the Cage Match Swarm show. It means, "able to call attention to itself."

It's a general-semantics term, as one of the traits of language is that you can talk about language with language!! IT'S SELF-REFLEXIVE!!!

Audiences Love Secunda Rocks!

Here's what people are saying:

"I liked that swarm group."
--Jimmy Hart, 22nd St. Bystander

"Who's that guy who laid the train again?"
--Jimmy Hart, 22nd St. Bystander a little later

"Which one do you think is the cutest in The Swarm?"
--Emmy, overheard while passing through the lobby

"No payments until 2002."

Okay Ben!

That's the last straw. It's one thing to comment about an event you didn't see, but when you desacrate a thread that praises the comic genius of Andrew Secunda, that's another thing all together.

I challenge you to a battle, Ben. a seven day battle, starting today. More to come in a different thread....

P.S. Secunda DOES Rock, and so do Dave, Sean Andy D., Delaney, Billy, Katie, Bowie, Corrdry, Colton, Huskey, Dyna, Seth and Ari.

That was some funny as all heck funny last night.

Thanks for the linguistics lesson, Noam Chomsky.

I look forward to this Benorbeen/Youngcat card.

Last night's Cage was the hardest I had laughed...ever. Now I can die.

The Horsies have a song called "Noam Chomsky." I bought the CD just because of that.

The Swarm show also had the shutting-out-Sean-Conroy stuff. Plus split scenes, and even I think a three-spliced scene ... Tough stuff, lots of balance on the stage. That's the only thing I whack off to, stage balance.

Its their full participation onstage, and full alertness (or seeming to have such), that really makes them a force. Plus, why is it when they're onstage with just even 5 people, they seem to fill the stage while 8-person teams still seem small?

Huskey starts munching on the ass of a "ripped" Corddry, who says "Sorry...World."

Corddry: My god, what have you been eating all these years?

Swarm:
Secunda as English bartender: What'll it be?
Daly: She would like a blindfold from the truth...And I'll have the same.

Sorry to be so anal

What Delaney said was, "Just because you're getting laughs doesn't mean you're working properly."

Whose the semantics nerd now?

Hey, I'LL show you some antics..!

Secunda Rocks.

I am concerned about Secunda Rocks.

I use this thread as opposed to the other 7, simply because it was the genesis of our new friend.

See, I think most people would agree that Secunda is a fine performer. I will even go so far as to add that I believe he is a nice man. However throwing a post to the end of each thread about your love for Secunda is, in my opinion, counter-productive. It seems less sincere. I am finding it hard to believe anything you write even though I know some of it's true.

People will quickly tire of seeing the name Secunda and may take it out on the man himself. And I for one would find that a shame.

I think we can all agree he deserves more respect than that. I would not presume to tell you, Secunda Rocks, what to do. But I think we should all just think about what we are doing to Secunda. Can we all just think of Secunda?

I thank you.

i have been slumming here in chicago for the past week or so. while laying around freeloading i read some of _who's improv is it anyway?_

amy seham makes a good distinction between meta-improv and post-modern improv

so while i thought the swarm was doing meta-improv... analagous to meta-physical... it turns out they were indeed doing post-modern improv

so delaney is right as usual... fuck!

and to keep this thread on topic, i miss secunda.
