Improv Resource Center - Forums
DSI Theater is currently looking for shows to bring to the stage in December and January. We accept sketch, improvisation, film, scripted plays, stand-up... if it's comedy, we're interested in presenting it to the Chapel Hill/Carrboro community.
Show openings in the next two months are generally 25-30 minutes on Friday or Saturday night, and are paired with a second group of performers. We will consider most shows for a one-night engagement but are looking to install a new show in a weekly run for the month of January. Some Sunday evening shows will also be considered.
Interested individuals or groups should prepare the following materials:
--Team or Show Name
--Team or Show Description: this should include a blurb for the DSI website, but may also include any separate materials you would like for us to know to give your show proper consideration
--Cast List (include director and all tech personnel)
--Short Bio for each cast member
--List of all Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in December and/or January that the entire cast is available
The following items are not required for your show's consideration, but are certainly helpful:
--high resolution digital image for the show
--DVD or VHS tape of a previous performance or rehearsal
Of course, we welcome out-of-town acts and film submissions from afar, so if you're thinking of visiting or just having a long-distance affair with the hottest comedy theater in the dirty, dirty south, holler at us!
