STILL can't post pictures

OK, i did the img http:// web address with my picture in it /img thingy

and the only thing that comes up is the web address link. my picture is in yahoo pictures, and then i made its own website. that's the link i included.

this is the link to my failed venture.

can someone spell it out in laymans terms... again...

I think the problem is that you're trying to link to a picture that exists in a place you can't link to. When I click on the link, it won't come up. I tried using the same URL but deleted the part of the address that came after ".jpg" and I got to a Web page that said something about not having permission to access the image. So it must be in a private place, or else Yahoo! has coding that keeps you from using it as a place to host images. (The same thing happens if I try to link to a picture that's in a stock photo agencies database, because they don't want you sharing the image.)

What you might want to try to do...when you see that picture in Yahoo pictures, right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) it to get a little drop-down menu. It should give you an option that says something like, "open image in a new window." If it allows you to do that, a new window will open up with only the image in it. Copy the URL from the address part of that window and use that URL when you do your image link on the IRC.

If that doesn't work, you may have to put the picture up on the Web somewhere else. If all else fails, send it to me (jeff_scherer AT yahoo DOT com), and I'll put it up on my site for you, and give you a link to it.
