Spend August in Los Angeles, delving deeper into your study of improvisation. Students who enroll in more than one intensive receive a discount of $50 on their second enrollment (and third and fourth!).
The Writer's Table- Advanced Writing Intensive
August 3-7, 2009. 11am to 4:30pm. Experience the collaborative writing process of shows like MadTV, SNL, 30 Rock, and The Office. Use your improv skills to refine pitching, collaboration and brainstorming. This advanced writing class is appropriate for Graduates of any well known improv training center (IO, UCB, Groundlings, Second City). If you are a graduate of another sketch writing program please call our office to determine your eligibility. Tuition is $525.
Advanced Improvisation Master Class
August 10-14, 2009. 11am to 4:30pm. This intense, advanced improvisation class is intended for graduates and advanced students at within our program or any other well known training program. This will be a challenging, high level improvisation class pushing students to break through their own roadblocks and to discover their strengths. Work with students from various training companies and improvise at a higher level. Tuition is $525.
Create A Character Reel Intensive
August 17-21, 2009. 11am to 4:30pm. This intensive focuses on creating original characters through collaborative improvisation, honing them into solo performances, and recording them to dvd for your reel. Learn how to conceive a character, specify that character's individual point of view, and develop it into a fully realized personality. You will then work in front of a camera with a Second City director and a camera operator to develop your characters and that will best show off your talents. At the end of this class, you will receive all of your raw footage and we'll refer you to editors with negotiated low rates. This class is open to all improvisers, students and graduates. Tuition is $525.
Long Form Musical Intensive
August 24-28. 11am to 4:30pm. In the span of just one week, you will learn the elements of creating improvised lyrics and music. Learn the basics of musical improvisation and collaboration in a fun and supportive environment and by the week's end, be able to perform a fully improvised long form musical. This intensive will be a fast and fun exploration of music and improvisation. No musical or singing expertise is required- ALL IMPROVISORS WELCOME. There will be one performance on the final day of this class. Tuition is $525.00.
