Does anybody have any insight or ideas about finding a space for a practice group ? how are others solving this problem?

In addition to the suggestions above, which are all pretty good spaces, (assuming your within the NYC Metro area) check out the classified section of "Backstage" (you'll find it at most newsstands across the city). They have a couple of pages with listings of some of spaces with their contact info. I've stummbled upon some really neat spaces there.
