This workshop gives writers the tools you need to write a screenplay and also address some of the common pitfalls, mistakes, and miscalculations that writers make. Many great ideas never make it because the writer didn't have a grasp on the basics of cinematic storytelling and the art of screenwriting. Learn how to tell your story in just four weeks! JOHN HINDMAN, writer/director of 2009 Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee "The Answer Man", starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham, is teaching a 4 week workshop designed to give students the tools to write a great screenplay. This class addresses common pitfalls, mistakes, and miscalculations that writers make, and teaches the basics of cinematic storytelling and the art of screenwriting. In addition to writing and directing "The Answer Man", John Hindman is the founder of the iO West Writing Program, now in its seventh year. As a story consultant, he has provided analysis for studios, producers, and hundreds of students. John was recently included on the Hollywood "Black List", a year-end list of the best screenplays. John's next project is "Christmas in New York."
