CONTINUES 25 YEAR TRADITION OF FEEDING THE HUNGRY
FREE TURKEY DINNER & COMEDY SHOW AT TIMES SQUARE CLUB
When: Thursday, November 25th Seatings 1pm, 3pm, 5pm
Where: The Laugh Factory 303 Eighth Avenue
( between 42nd and 43rd Streets)
What: Laugh Factory owner, Jamie Masada, says, “Spending the holidays alone is no laughing matter. Many people have no family here. They come to Manhattan with talent and ambition but often a lack of friends and funds. We create a welcoming atmosphere of family, fun and good cheer.” In addition to inviting the ‘needy’ in the entertainment community, the doors will be open to struggling artists, the elderly and anyone who is alone for the holidays.”
For 25 years in Los Angeles, Masada has provided up-and-coming comedians with a spot to showcase their talents. But he is equally known for his charity and community service work. Over the years, Masada has hosted Comedy Camp for underprivileged children, services for the Jewish holidays and annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at the famed comedy club, the Laugh Factory. The idea is to provide a place for struggling comics, actors, artists and others who come to the City with talent and ambition but are unable to be with their families.
After September 11, the Mayor’s office and the Times Square BID, asked The Laugh Factory to open in New York as part of their efforts to make 42nd Street a world class tourist attraction. This year, in the same spirit of giving back, the new Laugh Factory in Times Square will begin the annual Thanksgiving Day tradition.
