SNL is funny a fair amount of the time, but the apex of American comedy?

It is THE sketch show in America at this time. What's runner up, MADtv? Chapelle? There's obviously a giant gap.

I think as long as talented people are chosen as contestants it should be fun. But doesn't SNL have a long list of people they've been eyeing already? Will they be the contestants or will they have auditions just to have a few extra episodes?

Death knell. I agree. Someone needs to take that show over. (Can I enter a reality based game show where I can eat a rat smoothie or trick my family members and get the job?)

Have you ever really watched those Dick Ebersole episodes? Theya re showing them late nights after the regular run of SNL (at 2 am here in Philly). Dick did not get the show at all, it is really obvious now (it was obvious then but more so now). Very sad.

That's harsh. His son did just die probably. I take back my previous anti-Dick Ebersol comment and hope the off-hand reference I made to him on an improv message board didn't lead to the terrible tragedies of the past two days.
