Simple Questions

#1
Vegas: Better or not better?
Many of my friends say that a program called "vegas" made by sonic foundry (who also makes my beloved acid pro), is a much better program than AP. That it is easier to use AND has more capabilities. Because I'm not familiar with this program, I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on me...

Sync'ing Motion Settings:
Well, say I have a musical cue I want motion to zoom in on or so, something that uses motion... Now, since motion is always playing and what not the only way I see for a clip or image to execute a command on a musical cue is razor blade the clip at the musical cue and start your motion there... or just trial and error.... Is there an easier way to do this?

Morph Transition:
I saw a transition in a video in which an object from clip 1 would transform into an object on

clip 2. Say you see a guy's face... The picture distorts and it turns into another guy's face... I

was wondering how one would create this effect

Object Transition:
A man walks across the screen and everything to the right side of him is the original background

but the the left side of him is a brand new clip. Like he's the transition....

Static Effect:
I saw a vid and it went out into static, how do you create this effect.
How do you make a clip get overwhelmed by static? And you know how old televisions had "tracking"

and when you turned it all the way up or halfway the screen would go from bottom to top (or vice

versa) and when the bottom of the screen goes past the bottom border, it displays that image on

the top, so it's a cycle of bringing the avi clip from the top to the bottom. I hope you guys can

understand this lol... Umm... let's see like the top half would be actually on the bottom portion

of the screen however the bottom half would be on the top.... heh... Thanks in advance

Applying Motion Settings To A Reverse Clip:
How would one play a clip in reverse and then after apply motion settings to it... Every time I

seem to play a clip in reverse and apply motion settings, they have no effect...

Exporting Past The Timeline:
How come when I export the timeline, sometimes it exports PAST the timeline.. like I haven't

created any video after that or audio and when I export it it has about 1 min of just black

screen?!

Exporting A Segment Of Project:
How do I export only a portion of my project?

Where to download digital backgrounds:
Where can I download digital background animations like digital juice (I can't find any digital

juice stuff)

Blurr Elimination:
Well, if anyone has seen fumoffu, an anime which I really love, (it's a spinoff of full metal

panic). Well anyways, back on to topic.. In the introduction of this anime there are about 9 PIPs

running and they are eliminated by 2 blurry images that runs through it and intersect on that

picture (or avi in this case). So, basically pictures come in vertically and horizontally and

intersect at where the clip is and eliminate it... How would I express this? I was thinking about

just using keyframes with fast blurr combined with motion... Like have the exact same picture have

fast blurr on it (vertical) and use motion to move it pretty quickly over the avi clip and just

stop showing the avi right when the motion comes in... Ugh... this is way too hard to explain..

I'm going to cut out the portion I'm talking about with Virtual Dub and compress it so you guys

can download what I want the final result to be...

EDIT:

I want to create that type of effect...

Right Click Save As...

These require the DivX Pro™ 5.1.1 Codec... which can be downloaded at:

http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXPro5

11GAINBundle.exe

How Do I Create These Effects:
These clips are extracted with virtual dub... they require the divx codec which can be downloaded

at the following link:
http://download.divx.com/divx/DivXPro5

11GAINBundle.exe
First of all, the intro.. It really kicks ass and I was wondering what program I might want to

take a gander at to make a very interesting introduction such as this:
ftp://firecos:123456@207.36.18.54

/Video%20Effects/Intro.zip
In the following clips, the editor somehow made a blue light sheet appear everytime he would shoot

an opponent... A demonstration of this effect can be seen here:
ftp://firecos:123456@20

7.36.18.54/Video%2...LightEffect.zip
Also, he somehow makes his own light source from the sky... I don't know how he does this, but

this can be seen in this clip:
ftp://firecos:123456@207.36.18

.54/Video%2...ts/Sunlight.zip
If you just want to download all the clips here:
ftp://firecos:123456@207.36

.18.54/Video%2...MaulEffects.zip
These files are all zipped, so make sure you have winzip or some utility to unzip these

demonstrations with...

(Ugh, I hope I can get some help with this one... I need to find a program to make better titles)

Rounded Rectangle PIP:
Okay, I wanted a bunch of rounded rectangle pips flying upward on the screen...
So I created a Rounded Rectangle with Blue Inside and Green Background. The clip could bleed

through the Blue and I could virtual clip that then make the virtual clip transparency green

screen and whatever was in the background would bleed through the green..
The result? A rounded rectangle PIP good looking but with a very thin GREEN line around it..
At first, I thought maybe all of the green wasn't TRUE green, so I tried it again.. after a long

period of time I just decided I did fill it with a true green, but adobe premier (6.0) was being

rather gay. So, instead of green, I'll use black, and make my background bleed through that... I

used Chroma (I don't know what that does) but my background bled through the black pretty nicely.
So now, my image is playing in a rounded rectangular shape and the frame is transparent...
Now to make it move upward, easily done with motion.. Okay, so now I move it up and make the fill

color black (cause that is my background color) and it's working just fine. Now, I alt scrub, see

how everything is looking, but when I applied the chroma (which made everything black)

transparent, there were parts in the clip that were completely black. Making the insides of my

clip have background that bleeds through!!
I basically, can't figure out how to put an image in a rounded rectangle, and yet apply only the

transparency to the "frame" around my clip. I want nothing in the clip to be transparent, but I

want the border to be transparent... If I make it anything other than black, those pesky lines

will show up which I don't know why... and if it's black then some of the clip with be

transparent! Currently, I'm just deciding on not using a unorthodox shape at all (like a rounded

rectangle) and just doing the PIP in a stupid rectangle

What Program To Use For Logos:
I want to create a pretty kickass logo, which program would you guys recommend?! Thanks for your

help in advance...

I hope I'm not unloading too many easy questions on you guys, but I can't seem to find this

information out independently...

I work with 6.0...

Well, I have a big list of codecs I've tried to view with adobe premier... and what I've mainly

come out with is the DivX Fast Motion has the most compression that adobe premier can view. With

the DivX pro codec if you open a clip up with this codec in AP, it crashes and freezes and what not... So, just thought I'd like to share that information with you guys that so far (for me) the divx fast motion is the best one...

anyways, here's the information I found...
