The “Show Printable Version” feature on the board doesn’t appear to work past the first page of a thread. That’s to say, when I click on it, it will only show the first page of posts regardless of what page I’m on.

I’m still temping in a really uptight (and firewalled) office, so I like to view the IRC in the less-suspicious black and white, avatar-free, printable view. Is there a way to choose this view as the default?

I just discovered another solution to my problem.

In Internet Explorer using "tools" --> "internet options", and then toying with the "colors" button and the "accessibility" button you can set your browser to override the colors of the IRC (and all other pages you visit) and replace them with your custom colors. Also, under the "advanced" tab you can turn off images. So the IRC now looks just as boring as a word document on my computer.

I can't disable

pictures - I can see all the avatars still - this is brilliant though. it'll make my life here a lost easier.

Under the "advanced" tab of "internet options" there should be a check box under the heading "multimedia" that says "show pictures". Just make sure it's unchecked.

If you're still seeing photos, you may have to clear your history and cache and reload or restart your browser.

On the "general" tab of "internet options" choose "delete files" under the "temporary internet files" heading and "clear history" under the "history" heading.

If you ever come across a picture that you want to view (a daily beverage, for example) you can "right click" the mouse and choose "show picture".

If you are looking at something in the printable view and you want to look at the next 20 replies, you can add this to the address:

&pagenumber=2

Just keep changing the number to increase which page you are looking at.

For instance, this link takes you to the first 20 posts for a thread:

This takes you to page 2:

http://www.improvisation.ws/mb/printthread.php?s=&threadid=271&pagenumber=2
