Self defense workshops for women?

I am not a woman. However i know some women who unfortunately been the victims of assault, including sexual assault. i was reminded of this hearing of a serial rapist currently on the loose in Williamsburg. i know some women who live in williamsburg and have pleaded with them take a self-defense/rape prevention class but i don't know of any. if anyone has taken one or heard good things about one please post it here.

Park Slope Fitness Collective has a self-defense class on Sundays at 11 a.m. It's $8 for the first class and $15 per class after that. They also have special deals if you buy a card for 10 classes or 20 classes.

May be out of Williamsburg area but they are super nice people.
