The Second City is proud to announce the return of “Second City Unhinged,” improvised and alternative comedy programming featuring Chicago’s best comedic talent at The Second City e.t.c. (1608 North Wells in Piper’s Alley) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning May 4, 2004 at 8:30pm and running through June 9, 2004.
Listed below is the line-up for the first series of performances of “Second City Unhinged”:
TUESDAYS
“The Outsiders” – Featuring Michael Anastasia, Tom Blandford, Bill Bungaroth, Katie Neff and Mark Piebenga and directed by Second City alum TJ Jagodowski, “The Outsiders” perform a five person, long-form improvised show.
“P.O.V.” – (Open Run) Directed by Peter Gwinn, POV features some of the city’s best improvisational talent. The rotating cast features Jill Blanford, Molly Erdman, Tom Flanigan, Lillie Frances, Ed Furman, Shelly Gossman, Noah Gregoropoulos, TJ Jagodowski, Rob Janas, Bobby Mort, Andy St. Clair and Andèl Sudik.
WEDNESDAYS
“The Claudia & Deb Show” – Southside Chicago meets rural west Texas in this hilarious & insightful show which features comic sketches, monologues, songs and improvisations written and performed by Second City alums Claudia Wallace and Deb Downing.
“Los Shut Up” – Los Shut Up, a three-piece indie pop combo, presents an evening of guests, memories and hijinx. This program features a sidekick (a man with no musical talent), public service announcements, and peppered with hummable songs about chocolate sauce, a hatchet and the VIP room. They are the only, therefore greatest, improv rock band. Featuring Joanna Buese, Tony Mendoza, and Chris Churchill.
Tickets for each evening of “Second City Unhinged” are only $5.00 and are free to current students of The Second City Training Center with current Training Center ID card and can be reserved at 312/337-3992. The Second City e.t.c. is located at 1608 North Wells in Piper’s Alley.
