[San Francisco] Calling all San Francisco Harold fans!

#1
Hi guys! I'm a relocated improviser new to the area and have been noticing that my favorite form of improv, The Harold, is not (from what I can see) too huge a form of improv in San Francisco.

Any Harold fans out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area? I'm thinking of starting a group just to practice and have fun with the Harold form.

Send me a message or post here if interested!

Thank you guys!
I will definitely check all those things out.

But do any of those groups do the Harold? I have looked around a bit and was under the impression that no one here really had Harold classes or performance groups on a regular basis, since that style is not as prevalent here as it is in NY. (the first link, sfimprovalliance.org, isn't working for me at all :( but I definitely didn't see any Harold stuff on the other sites)

I was really hoping to either find a weekly Harold or get one going, since the Harold is my favorite.

But thank you so much for the links, I will definitely check them out for other stuff and get involved in that too (or maybe there is Harold stuff there and I am missing it so I will look some more)

in the meantime if either of you (or anyone else!) are also interested in doing a weekly Harold group and have also been having trouble finding one, drop me a PM and maybe I can either find an exisiting one for us somewhere or we can start one! (or if you know of one please let me know!)

Yes. SPF7 and the Co-Operative does. They both have Long Form Harold Jams Respectively on Mondays (The Make Em Ups on Monday at The Comedy College and The SFIC's Jam on Monday's at the Off Market Theater.)

The SFIC has regluar classes One called Six Harolds...where they get together and workout the Harold. It is literally on their site. It might be hard to navigate. But it is there.

The Same with SPF7.

Seriously IllegalBlonde. Your best bet is to just email folks and get yourself into the "Harold Scene"

And if you start one? Please send me an email to improvalliance@gmail.com to promote it for improvisers to attend.

Thanks! I had heard about the Monday Improv Jams but I didn't think they were Harolds so I will definitely check that out. I heard about the Six Harolds thing and will definitely take that but was hoping to find or start a weekly class or group too just to practice regularly like I did at home.

Thanks for the info! :) Happy improv-ing!

Well, if you decide to start a weekly Harold on your own? I think its an awesome idea. It will be supported by the SFIA.

And, if you need space? I run The Climate Theater.

You can have mondays or tuesdays if you like. For mass cheap.

Just send me an email if you are interested and we are happy to help you out.

actually, the Monday Night Jam is open longform, but it's a bit of a stretch to call it Harold. But Shaun is right about 6 Harolds, and after the Besser class there's definitely energy to get something started.
