Riley Coaches!

#1
Hello!

I'd be pretty psyched to coach your team or practice group. I have been studying UCB improv since January 2009 under a lot of excellent including Kevin & Will Hines, Curtis Gwinn, Chelsea Clarke, Michael Delaney, Gavin Speiller, and more!

One of my favorite things to focus on in practice is hardcore listening and reacting. You're hearing what your scene partner is saying, but how are you honoring their words? There's a move, or a discovery, or even FUN lying right in the space between you and your teammate. So don't gloss over a good idea, go for it!

As for availability:
-Mon-Fri Weekdays.
-Monday Nights.
-Sunday Nights.
-More availability soon once my schedule clears up!

Also, just ask. I'm not a terribly busy guy.

Riley is awesome. He's smart, hilarious and bold. A triple improv threat.

You'd be wise to take his advice, because he knows what he is talking about.

What Dave said...

Also, if there's one thing Riley's improv ISN'T, it's stale. This guy can make any scene engaging and original and he can help you do the same. Just performing with him has brought my game up.

Hey everybody. I've been having some good times with the coaching gigs so let's keep it rolling.

I'm currently (usually) available during these times:

Mon-Fri during the day.
Wednesday Nights.

Okey dokey!

I have even more time to coach you now! Pretty much every day, especially daytime. Act fast before I get a new real job!

Still coaching! Still down for almost whenever! (Tuesday & Thursday nights are my off nights. Otherwise, ask!)

Lately I've been helping teams find the fun in Pattern Game, Scene Painting, and Sound + Movement openings.

I love helping improvisers hone their listening skills. Not just what was said, but how. My mantra as of late has been "every line is an suggestion." Take what was just said and honor it with the attention you'd give to a suggestion at the top of a show. I'm a big fan of seeing you work with your scene partner to build a scene together, rather than two guys each coming into a scene with an idea and compromising their visions to each other.
