Hey, I see from my local improv website that Comedy Worx from Raleigh is coming to Green Bay at the end of this month. Are any IRC folk going to be coming?

I won't be making the trip, sadly. The only IRC user I know of that's going is JMatt. And I don't think he posts anymore.

Round One: Raleigh 31 - GB 33. The Raleigh guys were awesome. I especially liked Wade. They had some great bits, especially on Three Rooms and Replay.

I'm going again to both shows tomorrow. This is too good to miss and the audience was on fire tonight.

Last night's scores:

First show: Raleigh 19, Green Bay 24

Second show: Raleigh 32, Green Bay 31

I felt like such a traitor cheering for Raleigh, but Jason Matthews rocks my comedy world. Honestly. I want him to have my baby, he's that funny. I was pretty inspired after watching them do two shows right after the other. The crowds were completely different - first was mostly minority teenagers and the second was a drunk college-age crowd. He played them so well and it was interesting seeing how gestures and jokes changed to fit the crowds. Everyone was awesome, but for some reason, when he was on stage I watched him more than anyone else.

Ross, I tried to say hi for you but the Raleigh folks were being shy and hiding in the back when they weren't on stage. I never had a chance and I had to leave right after the second show.

I'm sorry I'm missing tonight's shows!

Thank you for the kind words. I'm very glad you enjoyed the shows (although you missed an awesome show Saturday night as well!) Wade and I had a fabulous time up in Green Bay. We will be back, so we look forward to seeing you then. Take care...

I'm with JMatt - I appreciate the kind words. I rarely play on stage any more, so it's encouraging to know that it didn't show too bad. The whole Green Bay trip was an absolute blast. A good way to recharge the improv engines. And the town itself was tremendous - a very nice place to be.

JMatt did an outstanding job leading the Raleigh shows. The man is money, yo.

JMatt was one for the ladies too. Abe Lincoln and the Pen signing the Declaration of Independence - need I say more. From an audience perspective, I almost wet myself laughing.

You guys were really great. I'm sorry I missed the Saturday shows but I went camping instead. I am definitely looking forward to the rematch.

Ah yes. As the guesser, I was equally amused trying to figure out which historical event involved JMatt humping an audience volunteer doggy-style. That poor girl didn't know what she was getting into. Southern hospitality indeed!

Pull JMatt apart from his lady-friend for just a few days and he's already humping someone else? In public, no less? Shame on you JMatt. But good for you, as well.

The best part was when JMatt kept raising his hat and making that wide-eyed face.

What was your guess Lunenberg "That's either my wedding night or (something I forget)"?

That and the musical "A Night in the Betty Ford Clinic" are the two improv bits that will stick with me forever.

Yeah, the look on his face when he realized what he was doing was priceless. And you got my guess right. :)

The musical Betty Ford was quality. As was the Three Rooms where JMatt and Mike were having the old west shootout.

Geez, you make everything I do seem like it's dirty...oh wait, it usually is. Oh well.

Yeah, the "Betty Ford clinic" musical was outstanding. And I enjoyed the shootout scene, albeit me just continuing to pump Mike full of lead. (wait, did that come across dirty too?)
