Hey, improvisors!
I'm an improv student at PHIT and a newbie sketch and stand-up comedian. I just joined this board at the recommendation of my current improv teacher (Marbach). Since improv is addictive, I've attended many shows over the past 7 months, and most of them are awesome/fantastic but deserve bigger crowds. I think it's just a matter of getting the word out!
So I called my former employer, Philly Weekly, and I'm putting together a PW Comedy Guide.
It's going to be
1) a story about the growing comedy community in Philadelphia and
2) a run-down of all the best weekly and monthly comedy shows happening in the city.
I'd love to interview comics who can speak to the community-feel among Philly's comedians, stories of success/failure, doing comedy in other cities, or other salient aspects of Philly comedy you'd like to discuss. I want to have interviews done by next Thursday. I'll be sitting in a Center City cafe every day for 3 days recording 20-minute interviews. E-mail me to schedule one.
Also, I want the run-down of comedy shows to be as COMPLETE as possible, so please e-mail me with the pertinent information about your shows, as well as any questions!
