Favorite signs, experiences, etc?

- Cops hanging out eating Mister Softees at Union Square.
- Signs of which I forgot the exact slogan but which chided the Adminstration for profiteering from 9-11.
- "Someone" (hi!) flipping their picket sign over and realizing that although one side was something cool about supporting the rights of immigrants or some such thing, the other was actually quite anti-Israeli. Oooops!
- Someone on 16th Street swatting at one of those Bush punching-bobbing toys. Awesome. (Watched lots of fun stuff pass by from the Chat and Chew this morning.)

I hung out with the Gandhi statue at Union Square for a while and mused about life and peace.

I hope everyone out there is doing well and freely and safely exercising their rights to free speech!

thankfully I was eating brunch with two chosen people friends (hi!) who ordered both bacon AND ham, so my pro Palestinian sign didn't get me in too much hot water with the israelites.

soap box suds

:inlove: Today, I helped a labor union organizer pal pass out guides for the weeks events and was thrilled to see so many comedians out and about. I love how all of these marchers, many with diverging views, albeit much cross over, calmly walk ensemble. It felt like temple. It was too crowded to walk forward, so they all sway side to side, slowly advancing.

Let me know if I missed any causes. I caught pro-Kerry, anti-Kerry, anti-Bush, anti-Israel, pro-coexistence in the Middle East, pro-choice, pro-trees protestors.

Not a fan of the quasi swasktika's and sometimes the oversimplification of issues.

Also I am pretty timid but have NEVER felt physically threatened by limousine liberal protests. It is ironic/wasteful that Bloomberg sends out a plethora of troops for the meak, menschy, volvo driving, co-op shopping, red and gold diaper babies. Do they do the same for conservative marchers?
