HOLLYWOOD, CA (Reuters) -- NBC executives called an unprecedented meeting today with executives from all the other major networks to discuss strategy in dealing with the UCB Theater's latest shrewd scheduling move.

It seems Tuesday night stalwarts, DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray For Mark & Ari, are moving to PRIMETIME, Thursday night, at 8:00pm, providing incredibly enticing counter-programming to the dried-up, played-out, predictableness of Must See TV and its ilk.

"Once people find out about this," said one executive who wished to remain anonymous, "TV is finished." Another executive said, "I've seen DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray For Mark & Ari, and quite simply, they are hilarious. Much funnier than anything on TV, on any channel, in any timeslot. We're totally fucked."

And indeed they are. DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray For Mark & Ari, begin their Thursday night run TONIGHT at 8:00pm - and will continue their rampage of fucked-up funniness all through the month of June. "This show has everything," Bruce Willis said from the set of his new film, Lancelot's Secret, "the Grim Reaper, a dead monkey, a guy eating a hamburger, Ms. Pacman, three balloon animals, and a ouija board. Unless you're here in Mozambique filming this movie with me, you have no reason not to see it."

True and honest words from Mr. Willis. Unless you're currently on a movie set with Bruce Willis, you have no reason not to see DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray For Mark & Ari at the UCB Theater TONIGHT at 8:00pm.

(Dude,

If this plug slips down, I'm totally going to bump it.)

Anthony's show is excellent! He doesn't just eat a hamburger, he eats it with passion, pathos and patois!

I do not know what patois means.

Day 8: I looooved this show. Ask anyone I ever talk to. I can't stop thinking about at least 2 of the characters Anthony has created. I will see it again (or perhaps again and again). You should see it too.

I've also only heard great things about Mark & Ari.

Thursday just got a little more interesting.

Thanks so much, unsolicited testimonials! You guys are so nice!

THIS JUST IN:

ABC declares surrender and agrees to air only worthless crap tonight in the 8:00-9:30 time slot. "There's just no use," their representative told reporters, "DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray for Mark & Ari are just too hilarious."

Oh, and Bruce Willis just called. He says Mozambique is retardedly hot and because of DAY 8: Take Complete Control and Hooray for Mark & Ari, Thursday is now officially his favorite day of the week.

See you tonight!

FROM CNN.COM

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- Even as discussions heat up among the principals to commit to a sixth season of "The Sopranos," sources say the real buzz on the set of HBO's hit mob drama has been about the generous gesture made last week by James Gandolfini to more than a dozen of his fellow cast members.

Gandolfini, who had a bruising salary renegotiation with HBO earlier this year, recently received his first advance from HBO on his share of the "Sopranos" profits. In turn, the Emmy-winning actor quietly handed out checks in the five-figure range to series regulars, including Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, Dominic Chianese, Tony Sirico, Anthony King, Ari Voukydis and Mark Sarian.

Although King, Voukydis and Sarian are not part of the current Sopranos cast, Gandolfini, who had recently seen there show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, remarked, "With two shows like these out there, how can you not give them money, or at least see their show." he went on to lament, " I play like one character. Maybe I get more mad in one scene, but basically I'm the same guy. These guys (King, Sarian, Voukydis) play like ten characters! Why am I even here?"
