Usually, the Post of the Day doesn't come from one of the Plugs forums. But the post that made me laugh the hardest today is from Rob Lathan, who seems to have taken great care with the wording and rhythm of this plug for the Osgood-Schlatter show.

Overwhelming strong competition from all the various Kings, Queens, and Tsars for today's Post of the Day is this celebratory Googlism from Ari, offering congratulations to Delaney on the birth of his new baby Milo.

Delaney, post baby pictures!

Katy's "seven deadly sins" threads in the Off-Topic Forum are attracting a lot of interesting posts -- none more so than Ross White's explanation of educational budget woes in North Carolina. It sounds boring when I say it, but Ross makes it interesting. It's today's Post of the Day.

Today's Post of the Day is actually a Link of the Day. Dan Telfer was kind enough to submit to the "Where my bitches at?" thread a link to a fascinating discussion of women in improv, originally posted to a Chicago-based improv site in 1998. Check it out for smart and funny opinions from plenty of "improv legends."

I will try and be better.

Today's Post of the Day is from "Brewer/Patriot" Brian Stack, in a thread whose purpose is to spotlight happy things. I read this post over the telephone to my wife, who laughed out loud.

I am also curious as to what way Brian Stack is a Brewer/Patriot. It reminds me of a guy who went to UNC at the same time I did, who protested Chapel Hill's open container law by walking around town with a cup of non-alcoholic beer. When given a ticket, he would fight the charges in court. He called himself the Beer Patriot.

Brian, was that you?

Today's last-second winner of Post of the Day is Funny Guy: The Making of Ross White's "Make a Funny Face" Journal, Part 2. This fascinating interview between Dan Telfer and Ross White, posted by az3456 in his "IRC Journal Review Journal," yields interesting observations on funny faces, Improv Everywhere, and Bis. It also takes place on a helicopter surrounded by screaming Ross White groupies.

Runner-up: New IRC member Ben Rodgers started an interesting thread in the Off-Topic Forum about quitting. It provoked a lot of lively discussion from people who have quit improv, people who have considered quitting improv, and people who could never quit improv. And it provoked several heartwarming posts from the sometimes caustic Brian Berrebbi.

By the way, Ben: don't quit. You're a funny dude.

Thanks to Kurt for the long posts about Neutrino's Cagematch follies. This one is today's Post of the Day. And Kurt's post gave rise to a bunch of other great posts, too, rehashing some great UCBT history for those of us who were unlucky enough not to be there for it.

The "Come out of the closet you Nazi" thread in the Improv Forum has morphed from a basically harmless bit (if one in somewhat poor taste) into a very interesting discussion of the levels a good joke must have in order to cross the line from bald statement of fact into parody.

I particularly recommend this post from Conklin, which is today's Post of the Day.
