Hi I am new to the site, I stumbled across it when looking for places to discuss/advertise/get tips on running an entertaining podcast, I've had a look through and I think I'm in the right kind of place but I'm not sure.
The address to our site is http://bestthingfrom.com
We basically have 2 parts to our show we plan to travel the UK finding the best thing from every county, then each week we do an unplanned podcast where the 3 of us talk about what we did, what happened etc and it generally serves as a backdrop for the rest of the banter that unfolds.
Our first podcast has had 50 listens so far, our second currently sits at 77 listens and our 3rd has only been released a day or so but things are alright considering its early days. We've tried listening to other podcasts from the states that are slightly similar in the "unplanned and funny" kind of variety and we're aiming to keep going until we either get somewhere or get asked to stop. We're having a lot of luck with regards to opportunities to advertise or people talking to us about it so right now I think we can get at least a regular base of listeners involved through our facebook and twitter account. I just wondered if you guys had any suggestions at all. I know what we're doing isn't improv in that we're not acting, but it involves a similar level of skill to be able to just switch on the second the podcast is recording and improving our skills at that is definitely going to improve our listening figures.
I hope I've come to the right place, if not do forgive me!
