Picket Mr Colbert for me?

Maybe it's because I've spent too much time reading Colbert-centric forums (ok, it IS because of that), but now that people know how much power this show has, I see more than my share of people trying to get their piece of the "Colbert bump". Each one of them thinking they're being oh-so-unique in their brilliant plan to "challenge" Stephen.

For the record, this guy was claiming he was talking to the show (and Comedy Central's lawyers) back in March. Obviously got nowhere.

The trend of trying to "shame" Stephen into promoting you has worn out its welcome. And if I'm sick of it, I can just imagine how weary the show's staff has gotten. Annoying the audience coordinators and the standby line on June 12 ain't gonna help the guy, despite how talented he is.

Eeee... watched the video... get some comic timing and speak from the diaphragm, puppet!
Also, make a convincing argument. A "challenge" like this would only make sense if Colbert had made some statement about puppets on his show and Brian Hogg is trying to prove him wrong. But he didn't. Brian Hogg is just trying to get on the show by being a pain in the ass. Talking about how the puppet Colbert is better than the real Colbert for 3 minutes doesn't sound like a good way to get what you want.

What Hogg should have done is simply send the puppet to the show as a gift, with a note saying he is a fan and also he does a show and if Stephen could find the time to appear on it that would be wonderful. There's only a small chance that would work, but it's still bigger than this stunt he is trying to pull.

I think that's essentially what he did in the first place. He sent photos in and got the attention of one the producers, but I don't think it went any further than that. He's like a guy who got rejected by a girl but shows up at her office with flowers every day. He needs to let this go.

why doesn't he just shove that puppet up his butthole and post a video of that online, It'd probably get him more attention than this stunt.

The puppet should kidnap Steven Colbert, hold him hostage, force him to make out with Sandra Berhardt, and blackmail the producer into letting him do five minutes of stand up on the show. That's how Robert DiNero got famous.

I've never heard of Steven Colbert, Sandra Berhardt, or Robert DiNero. Are they any relation to Stephen Colbert, Sandra Bernhardt, and Robert De Niro?

If anyone has time on their hands and finds themselves at 54th & 10th later this afternoon, PLEASE report back on how this thing is playing out. I really can't wait to hear about it.
