Photos/Images in a post?

How do you include a photo/image in a post? Do you have to copy the image into the post somehow? Or, do you have to link it to a web page where the image is residing? If the image is not on the web but saved to your computer locally, how do you create a link (if you have to add it to your post via some kind of hyperlink?)

Thanks.

I think you have to have your image online somewhere. There are websites that provide free image hosting--try searching Google.

(Unless we can now post attachments?)

There's a button for image inclusion if you reply via the Post Reply button (near the bottom of a thread, before Quick Reply). It's yellow and looks like a mountain.

You can also wrap an image's URL (web address) in vBulletin image tags. The tags are IMG and /IMG, but in brackets [like this]image url [/like this]

In the journals, you can use html:

Code:
<img src="http://www.whatever.com/imageurl.jpg">

thanks. I think Yahoo may have something like that- where you can host multiple photos (like a photo album), but I don't know if each image has its own page. I'll look into that. (I even tried "cut" and "paste" but that didn't seem to work.)

Actually, I just tried to do this with Yahoo photos, and what happened was it posted the URL but not the photo!
Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

I've had trouble with displaying Yahoo! Photos in the past. I think the URL shifts around or something. You can much better post links to the album rather than to a particular photo or rather than posting it in <img src> tags.

Village photos is now going to charge for its services.

Is there a good, non-url shifting server that is FREE?

I'm currently using Cyber Tarp, but I think it allows too much access to your own images by others. I preferred Village photos because it seemed a tad more private.

Inkfrog looked good, but not FREE.

Inkfrog is good and free, but you can only keep 5 up at a time.

I repeat what No Key Bandit said:

You will have to sign up.
Under "Which plan do you want" choose "Free Plan."
