PHIT website redesign

PHIT

Hi everyone,

PHIT is starting to redesign our website, and the first round of changes is up. Consider this more of a 1.1 version of the site, as opposed to a 2.0. The big things are new colors and the logo incorporated across the top of each page.

Why am I telling everyone this? Because I want volunteers to try loading the site in their browser and poking around... I'm looking for people to let me know about things that display funny or typos they see.

So if you've got 5-10 minutes to go check things out that would be great. And if you see a problem, please let me know the following:

1) Description of problem
2) Specifics of the computer you were using (Mac/PC, operating system, web browser).

Thanks in advance. Helping make the website look better helps us put a good image forward on the web (which is the first point of contact most people have with us).

I definitely like the light blue over the dark blue. With the new banner, it's really a dramatic difference to the website. I'm fine with the rest of the text how it is (which doesn't look that changed)- the new banner and color give it such a more professional and exciting sheen to it all. Good stuff!

very nice, like the branding (still think we could tweak the logo a bit to make the rocket less phallic and give the guy pants)
it's very readable
I'd love to see nicer (newer in some cases) photos for all the instructors
and more photos of people in classes and shows

definitely moving in the right direction

The colors work great and the banner looks good,

...but with the rocket being cropped off at the bottom, it sure looks like he's happily showing off a large penis.

I'd also love for there to eventually be a performer's page of teams rosters and performer bios.

One man's opinions.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. We'll definitely work on having the top of the site look less like a giant dick joke.

Scotty, you are spot on with wanting performer info, etc. This stuff is hard to get because it involves brow-beating performers to write biographies/revise biographies. It is a goal though.

More updates...

Hey everyone,

PHIT has made another set of updates to the site and would love you help just poking around and trying to see if we broke anything.

Essentially we've done two things:

1) Our classes section has been rearranged. If you check out http://www.phillyimprovtheater.com/classes.html you'll see that things are now more streamlined on the first page of the classes section and it takes a little time to drill down to an actual sign up page. (We still have links from the homepage straight to sign up pages for classes starting soon). I'd appreciate it if people could head over to one of the subpages and check for broken links.

2) We've also changed our instructors page to be similar: one main page and drill down pages (which may have the same broken links problems). "Instructors" is now called "Staff" in the navigation bar... and will be renamed again after The State of PHIT... but you'll need to actually come to the meeting to learn what we'll be calling it!

Thanks in advance for any help, and post comments/problems you find here!

Hey PHIT! The site looks great, I like the new slogan.

I do have an update. I'm posting here because I think there's a glitch and my email requests aren't coming through. Can you remove my name, picture, and bio from the website? They are still on the performer and instructor page, not sure about anywhere else.

Thanks!
