Some of you may have gotten this email, but its worth posting. I figured improvisers would be a welcome addition to this venture. I plan on going.

-- Pennsylvania Day Trip with Team Kerry – This Friday!

On Friday morning, just after George Bush accepts the Republican presidential nomination, the Kerry-NY team will lead a day-long
canvassing trip to the important battleground state of Pennsylvania, and we need you to participate!

Our buses will depart from 7th Avenue and 26th Street in Manhattan at 8 a.m. on Friday and head down to the Philadelphia area. Upon arrival, we will receive instruction from local organizers and then hit the streets to spread the Kerry-Edwards message to targeted households. We plan on returning to New York City around 7 p.m.

As you already know, speaking with voters in battleground states is one of the most important things we can do to help John Kerry
win in November.* This is an opportunity for New Yorkers to have a real impact on the election!

To sign up for the Pennsylvania Day Trip or to learn more, send an email to nyupdate@americansforkerry.com, and please provide your
contact information. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on Friday!

PM me or email me (sturgini@hotmail.com) if you're going, also reply to nyupdate@americansforkerry.com. As of now, I am going by myself, but it would be nice to see some familiar faces. Lets make this happen. If a small percentage of the Philly burbs votes Kerry, thats like kicking the elephants right in the balls.

Sounds like a Great idea! Come visit beautiful Philadelphia, where the smell of horse piss is no longer a Big problem. There seems to be a lot of displaced homeless this week [I guess the republicans turned on the hoses and they all came down here, or maybe they're protesters on their way up there who stopped to panhandle].
The only thing is... instead of going back up Friday night, Stay here another day and catch my improv show at 5 on Saturday. Both groups were in the marathon and the place we're performing has 3 fans to keep you cool!

I'm not sure if they will send out responses. Try calling them 212-764-7104. This is all I have heard from them thus far (the email), but I plan on showing up anyway. Go Johns Go!

I did this without having gotten a confirmation letter - just showing up is all they need. There was a rally before boarding the buses that was later broadcast on CSpan. I was put on a bus heading to Norristown, PA - a Philly suburb. We were given a lunch bag and then the sequential addresses of registered voters and went around in teams of two. Our job was to survey them to see which way they were planning on voting, offer any information about Kerry if they wanted, and encourage them to go to the polls. We also left a pamphlet with everyone. The area is predominately Democratic, but with low voter turn out - a particularly effective area to promote.
