Orchestra PIT is a longform improvisational ensemble modeled after some of the world's great symphonic orchestras. Under the direction of Armando Diaz, the "Orc PIT" will present established forms of improvisational comedy and will also seek to expand its repertoire into uncharted territory by exploring new structures.

The Orchestra PIT Players are: Aaron Bergeron, Jeff Campbell, Jesse Falcon, Amey Goerlich, Kevin Hines, Will Hines, Terry Jinn, Shannon O'Neill, Matt Pack, Amy Rhodes, Erik Tanouye, and Joe Wengert.

This is my new favorite show. It's really wonderful.

It's a great cast and a really accessible and fun to watch format. And you don't get those ass cramps* one can get while watching 2 harolds in a row.

*I'm looking at you, Matt Pack.

Tonight Orc PIT will have...

Something old (forms we have been working on for awhile).

Something new (some new forms courtesy of Armando Diaz).

Something borrowed (time - we are all living on borrowed time, people).

AND....

Something blue (someone will be wearing a blue shirt).

It is as if Orc PIT is getting married - Sunday 8pm @ The PIT.

FACTS ABOUT KINGSPORT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA:
The Kingsport Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1946. At that time, the 43 musicians were volunteers. Concerts were free to the public and contributing members donated a $5.00 subscription. The concerts were performed in the middle school auditorium which seated about 250 people.

Today, the orchestra has more than 65 paid musicians. Audiences especially enjoy July's FunFest Pops concert, which combines patriotic tunes as well as opera and classical orchestral themes, with a little summer fun.

If you had a time machine, you could revisit the past and be present for the world premiere of Beethoven's Nine Symphony.

But according to a recent survey, most Americans would use the time machine to travel ahead to this Sunday so they could see Orchestra Pit perform before anyone else from their strand of the universal time string.


It is classic. This Sunday.

Go see this show! It's really unique and fun. Plus it's filled with class and talent.

Time Machines

If I had a time machine I'd go on a date with Betsy Ross. We'd eat some nice halibut and the stroll around town discussing our burgeoning republic.

Then I would invite her to see Orchestra PIT.
