I don't know about Off-off topic, but I do think it might be helpful to invent a new thread-viewing option for the journals. The way they get bumped is annoying as hell.

It would be good if you could subscribe to journals. Not in the "email notification" way, but if you could create a window in which appear only the one's you want to see.

Basically, do what you can do with a Usenet reader, where only your "subscribed" newsgroups show up in the window, unless you select the "show all newsgroups" option.

Of course, i guess you can ALREADY do that here, by subscribing to a thread, and going to your User CP where you see only your subscribed threads.

So, what the heck are we complaining about?! That's the solution, I guess.

mmmmmmm. I dunno phil. That sounds like the highway to not discovering new potentially interesting journals.

But what if you could indicate a "favorite" journals on the main page that can be customized by each user?

You can currently subscribe to threads and then check to see what's new through your user cp.

Actually, I can't seem to get subscriptions to work. I'm baffled by them. I'm told that the feature will be enhanced in the new version of the message board coming out next quarter.

Trent Lott thinks he should only be able to see the journals of certain people.

Maybe organize them into sections according to date created? Therefore, you can tell which ones are the newest of the new.

That looks like a great option, but there is little chance I'll try it until you can disable the email feature in 3.0.

I'm going to ponder this subject some more, but what about making an ignore thread option?

You could set up a dummy hotmail account to send the emails too. Do you get any emails from this board when you subscribe to a thread? You already have the option off to recieve personal emails.

if you have a junk mail filter in your email program, you could also tell it to trash stuff from improvisation.ws.

but kevin might consider that equivalent to burning the Flag.
